Project Background
Stone Roofing had the pleasure of working on the Ford Factory commercial roof project located in Downtown Los Angeles. Built in 1913 to manufacture Ford Model T automobiles, the poured-concrete and block building was the second Ford Motor plant to be built west of the Mississippi. It has become one of the most iconic buildings in Downtown Los Angeles.
The property has been restored and redeveloped into a premier creative office campus and preserving the property’s authenticity and historical significance. Character-defining features include expansive floor plates, mushroom cap columns, factory-style windows and skylights, and a rooftop water tower. The Ford Factory Los Angeles is one of the highest quality examples of adaptive reuse in the city.
The Ford roof project was a unique project for Stone Roofing. We utilized cutting-edge technology that allowed us to provide the best fit and service to our customers and the overall project.
