Cedars-Sinai Hospital

Los Angeles, CA

Project Background

Stone Roofing was proud to work on the Cedar-Sinai Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion. The 820,000 square-foot Pavilion in Los Angeles accommodates 500 to 600 patients each day.  The Pavilion was designed with airy and comfortable spaces to welcome patients and visitors as they enter.

A Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) system was applied to insulate the massive rooftop HVAC ducting at the Pavilion, helping to achieve a LEED Gold certification. Since SPF acts as an air barrier, it also helps to reduce moisture infiltration, which is a source of dangerous mold and mildew growth that can cause severe health problems to its occupants. Coating the ducts with the seamless spray foam material creates a fully insulated, leak-free, efficient duct system.  Using a bright white coating in conjunction with the foam helps to keep the sun from heating up treated, cooled air.
