Citrus College Student Center

Glendora, Ca

Project Background

Citrus College is the oldest public community college in Los Angeles County, founded in 1915. The college is home to 16 varsity sports teams and teaches over 60 disciplines accredited by the WASC. The campus continues to grow, showing about a 60% increase in enrollment between 2006 and 2021. In addition, the 104-acre campus is currently in the process of a 10-year facilities expansion project that will change the look of the campus.

Stone Roofing was thrilled to install a new roofing system for Citrus College, this time for their 29,500 Sq. Ft. new construction Student Center project. This built-up roofing system included laying down insulation across the entire roof for a thermal resistance of R-30. On top of that is a layer of coverboard for additional insulation and rigidity. Lastly, the SBS 2-ply membrane and the reflective cap sheet were applied over the coverboard, completing the watertight roof system.

Built Up Roofing is one of the oldest and most reliable ways of installing a new roof. Modified Bitumen roofing systems create watertight barriers that perform for many years at a time due to their multiple layers of protection.

With their 80+ years of roofing experience and know-how, Stone Roofing works with all types of commercial roofing systems and is pleased to have roofed another building at the beautiful and successful Citrus College.
