Project Background
Stone Roofing had the pleasure of working on the Los Angeles Music Center Commercial Roof Project. Located in Downtown Los Angeles, the Music Center is one of the largest performing arts centers in the nation.
With a year-round season, Ahmanson Theater’s special engagements required Stone to form a streamlined construction schedule coordinated with the City of Los Angeles, demolition crews, Stone’s roofing crews, and crane operators. Operators of a 70-ton crane ensured the proper disposal of old materials and delivery of new materials. Two travel lanes along Hope St. were closed off for safety and demolition. The demolition was completed during the midnight hours on Saturdays only for a four-week period. Roof work was completed by mid-afternoon each weekday to provide uninterrupted, full occupancy use of the theater.
